Music and The Arts
The Music Department at GEMS World Academy - Dubai offers all students the opportunity to study music utilising world class facilities with a team of passionate music educators. The Performing Arts corridor boasts classrooms, ensemble performance spaces, an industry standard recording studio and “live-room”, a green-screen video room, a video editing suite, a black box drama theatre, a mac-lab dedicated to music technology, and 12 small individual practice rooms all with a piano.
GEMS World Academy - Dubai also has a large auditorium suitable for performances which has a Concert Steinway Model D Piano on stage.
Students in the Early Childhood Programme have experiences in music each week as a part of their schedule. Primary Years Programme students study music, participate in general music classes and also a specialist string class from Grades 2- 5 where every child learns either violin or cello.
Middle Years Programme students may elect music from Grades 6-10, and it is possible to pursue music further in Grades 11-12 in the Diploma Programme.
